Volunteering:
Good Help is Always Welcome

BrewRidge Music Festival Volunteers Needed!
Saturday, April 26th, 2008
Volunteers will perform sample pouring, ID checking, set-up/take-down, CD sales, traffic control and other random tasks.
All volunteers will receive a free BrewRidge mason sample jar, 5 sample tickets and a cool BrewRidge t-shirt for helping out.
Volunteers need to arrive at the Mountain Lake Conservancy Visitor’s Center at 10 AM for a short orientation. The Visitor’s Center is across from the Activities Barn.
If you are interested in signing up, please contact the Mountain Lake Conservancy at 540.626.7121 x 444 or email us at MLC@MountainLakeHotel.com
The Mountain Lake Conservancy depends heavily on volunteer assistants for help maintaining our programs since we have such a small staff. If you are someone who has a desire to serve nature, has a warm-caring attitude, is dependable, personable, and interested in a rewarding volunteering experience, please contact:

Trail Maintenance
The Mountain Lake Conservancy maintains 2,600 acres of forest and trail systems that require ongoing maintenance. We organize volunteer trial maintenance crews to help preserve the trails for everyone's enjoyment and to protect our fragile environment. Great scenery, equipment, training and the opportunity for lots of fun are provided. No experience necessary, only the willingness to work hard and get dirty
Do you ride mountain bikes? If so that is the best way to get where the action is. We pull our tools along on a BOB Gear trailer. That way we get to have a little extra fun on the way to and from the job site.
If you want to get a feel for things before you come up and are interested in learning some various trail building techniques we recommend this incredible resource...
www.imba.com/resources/trail_building/index.html
We recommend bringing your enthusiasm and comfortable hiking shoes or your mountain bike, a water bottle, some work gloves and a camera. Expect cooler weather than at home, we are generally at least ten degrees cooler up here at 4,000' than the surrounding area, so packing a jacket is a smart idea too.
Scheduling
We keep a pretty flexible schedule during the winter months and actually have some projects that we could put you on by yourself or you could join us while we are out there - whatever you are most comfortable with.
Other Opportunities to Get Involved
There are various ongoing programs (dependent on the season) throughout the year where volunteers are greatly appreciated. If you have some time available and would like to engage yourself in a rewarding activity give us shout.
