A Mountain Lake Conservancy Adventure awaits you and your class!
We are rapidly approaching a 7th season with our environmental education programs.  By promoting our mission to "further Mary Moody Northen's desire to forge bonds between people and nature in Mountain Lake's unique environment," the MLC has a stated commitment to providing educational opportunities to people of all ages.

With our specially designed environmental education programs, we aim to provide an opportunity for your students to step out of their classrooms and into the natural world to make connections.  We strive to supplement your lesson plans by  incorporating hands-on learning with SOL-based instruction to school-age students. 
 
Come join us at Mountain Lake this spring and allow your students to experience nature's classroom!  Field trips are educational, fun and taught by certified Virginia Master Naturalists and aspiring Virginia Tech students who are trained by the Project Learning Tree System.

*** Remember: All programs are experiential-based learning and are applicable to Virginia Standards of Learning!

Student to Teacher/Parent Chaperone Ratio

• We will provide one naturalist to 15 students
• You will need to provide one chaperone per 10 students
• Recommended group size limit is 45 students

*It saves time if you split your students into 3 groups before your arrival to Mountain Lake.
